10 Ways to Unwind After a Stressful Day

Seeing as it’s Monday! Sometimes you have one of those days where you have so much to do and catch up and so little time, it can be overwhelming. Maybe you’ve had a stressful day at work. Maybe the kids haven’t given you a break all day? How was that cuppa? Was it cold by the time you got to it?

On days like these the last thing you want to do is clean the house, go to the gym or be anyway productive. Occasionally it is important to slow down and focus on a bit of self-care and yourself.

 

Here are 10 Ways to Unwind on those days

  1. Unplug! Get yourself away from those screens, put your phone in the kitchen drawer and the laptop away. The last thing you need is to compare your life to all the Insta-fake world!  It will still be there when you wake up tomorrow
  2. Get comfy, get into your cosiest, comfiest pyjamas (I personally love my oodie, if you have one you will understand!)
  3. Order take out or cook your favourite comfort food! I love mac and cheese and am always ready for pizza
  4. Listen to a podcast or audiobook, I use audible but there are plenty of free ones out there. You may even learn something new.
  5. Light a Candle
  6. Take a bath. Pull out your best bath bomb and enjoy the soft and silky bubbles. Alternatively, shower steamers are a great alternative!
  7. Find a good book, sometimes it’s nice to slow down into a screen free world and immerse yourself in a story.
  8. Have a glass or two of wine. Not that I’m suggesting wine every day, but sometimes it’s just what you need to relax.
  9. Have some me time! ;)
  10. Melt a relaxing wax melt such as Lavender & Vanilla, Twilight, or Bedtime Baby
